
A tough one month for Malayalam cinema – Rajan P Dev, one of the strongest character actors in Malayalam cinema is no more. Rajan P Dev was undergoing treatment at Lake Shore Hospital in Cochin after vomiting blood. He passed away at 6:30 AM today(29th July 2009).
Rajan P Dev’s film acting career started in 1983 in Ente Mamattikuttiyammakku. He has acted in close to 180 movies. Aniyan Bava Chettan Bava, Thommanum Makkalum, Commissioner, Achamakuttiyude Achayan, Chanthupottu, Chocolate etc are some of his notable movies. He’s also aced in Tamil ,Telugu and Kannada movies as well.
Rajan P Dev also had a strong presence in theatre. He had immortalized the character of Kochu Vava in the drama Kattukuthira. He has also directed 2 movies: Achante Kochumolku and Achammakuttiyude Achayan.
Rajan P Dev was 58.
