As for MGS singing for Jagathy Sreekumar, the losing candidate in the song cited, he may not even have known who he's singing for, to throw his tantrum....Remember, the music was by A R Rahman!

No one will compare the singers if the song is apt for the situation and their voice matches the character. People love to hear the song suiting the situation. I should say no ego should work out between two great singers. In fact MG sreekumar would have been well appreciated by the Public for his versatility if he sang that portion without any ego.

i find mg sreekumar's comments refreshing in the new series of the competition. also, it is nice to note that he himself narrates the story. he is candid and not reluctant to say why he did not sing in the arrogant manner.

It is not just a question of singing for the actor who loses. It was evident that the song would attract comparison from people if MG and KJY were singing. If MG had toned down his singing to suit the actor who loses then people would have told that KJY sang well but MG did not when the cassetes came out. That is the point he made.

As for yodha it was just a fun song and no compromises needed from the singers.

Talking of MG Sreekumar, did anyone notice his interest in talking about the subject 'rape'? Funny it may sound, every single time an actor (be it villain or not) appears on his SaReGaMa program on Asianet, he asks the same question - 'Did you get a chance to rape anyone on scree?'.

Sounds like some desperate guy waiting to rape someone!
