Dileep today is in an unenviable position. Even Jayaram finally got a hit in Veruthe Oru Bharya; Manju Warrier probably has become a Prithviraj fan. Since comedy in front of the camera is not working, Dileep has found a new niche. This started with naming his next movie.
He started out with Run Gopala Run and changed it to Run, Run, Run. Probably someone told him that if the movie name had “Run” in it, viewers might get the hint. So now it is either Dhoom Dhamaal Gopala or Crazy Rascals depending on if Rahu is in Shukran or Shani is dancing with Budhan.
As always Malayalam Cinema provides more entertainment in politics and scenes behind the camera. For Onam and Ramzan the movie makers could not come up with anything worthwhile, instead we have comedy. This is like the Dileep-Thulasi Das fight, but without Thulasi Das.
Our suggestion to Dileep is to release the same movie with all four names and see which one becomes a hit. Since theater owners are setting restrictions on how many prints of a movie can be released, he can use this tactic to circumvent that regulation.
People like you and me may make fun of it, but this is serious business. The meme has caught on. Mammootty’s new movie had the name Love in Singapore. Now it is going to be changed to Love in Bangkok. Tomorrow it could be Love in Attappadi.
Now, coming back to Dileep, we have figured out that Dileep’s fundamental problem is his name, maybe he can change it to Prithviraj.

There already was a film named ‘Love in Singapore’ with Prem Nazir in the lead. It was released around 1980. That must be why the name had to be changed.
