Slapfest 2008

Recently Padmapriya slapped Suresh Gopi. It was for a movie, but the slap was so real that Suresh Gopi’s cheek turned red as if he was enacting a scene in Lanka. Then Suresh Gopi being the macho man of Malayalam cinema could not really whine about it to the media.

Some slaps are real, while some are symbolic, like the magicians slap on Mohanlal’s face. Blessy and Lal Jose were super directors, capable of making hits out of any script, but Dileep gave two good slaps that they both have come down to Dileep’s level.

Mammootty is on a slapping spree. Recently he physically slapped a fan during the premiere of one of his movies. Now he slapped the Communist party by attending a function with BJP supremo L.K. Advani. Will the party slap him back?

The biggest slap is for Malayalam language. Vijay’s Kuruvi is getting released in 60 centers and it is expected to slap both Annan and Thampi. In the mean time Malayalees themselves are slapping Malayalam language by singing only Tamil and Hindi songs in various functions.

On this day..
