I saw this movie a while back, but I remember that I was really shaken up by it. Maybe it's because I enjoy watching art movies (I don't like Adoor movies though). The climactic scene where Kavya is sitting in a rocking chair and rocking herself with an expression of fear, resignation and anticipation of her imminent death kept haunting me for a few days after watching it.

@ VC :Sheelabathi might be a stupid film; But why should u blame some good films of the 70s for that.If we mention some films of the 70s enacted by the persons whom you mentioned(smita patel, naz. shah , shabana azmi)-Manthan,Junoon,Sparsh,Aakrosh,Nishant etc were really great movies to say the least. How can someone so irresponsibly compare a crap like Shalabathi with such good films.
I remember someone recently commenting about the art of using "we" instead of "I".Actually i support it.(For example We are not big fans,we prefer the middle path, was too boring for us)-You should be using the term me or I there - i.e. when iam writing something its my words or my opinion and not our opinion.
                                  It was just a suggestion

only kavya madhavan knows what happens in the end,but then she too dies.now theres no way of findingout. The only explanation to abrupt end to the film is probably the director himself got bored n stopped the movie or he must have lost the screenplay pages......hahhahaaa.
