Right after I heard the synopsis of Pachakuthira, in which Dileep plays a double role, for some reason I remembered Rain Man. Here are some similarities
Pachakuthira: Anandakuttan and Akash Menon are brothers.
Rain Man: Raymond (Dustin Hoffman in an Oscar winning performance) and Charlie (Tom Cruise) are brothers.
Pachakuthira: Akash Menon is a mentally weak person.
Rain Man: Raymond is the same.
Pachakuthira: Akash Menon is 5-year young than Anandakuttan
Rain Man: Raymond is an elder brother of Charlie.
Pachakuthira: Anandakuttan had never seen Akash.
Rain Man: Charlie wasn’t aware of Raymond’s existence.
Pachakuthira: Akash Menon comes from Germany and creates quite a mess in Anandakuttan’s life.
Rain Man: Raymond comes from a mental hospital into Charlie’s life and makes quite a mess.
Pachakuthira: Akash Menon kindling hope in Ananadakuttan’s bleak existence.
Rain Man: Raymond does the same in Charlie’s life.
So have our movie makers started renting the DVD/VCDs and to make Malayalam copies out of it again? Priyadarshanji, are you aware you have competitors now?

Yes, it is. After I saw a glimpse of shots in Surya TV, Rain Man came to my mind too… As I read in Deepika, Kamal has said that the thread of the story came from Dileep… Mmmhhh…may be he got the “thread” from Priyan!

yes, even i read in some dileep interview (think its nana) where he says, hes been toying with the pachkuthira story for some time. if thats the case, he should file a case for plagiarism against Hoffman and Cruise.
