Navya Nair’s offbeat films

Navya Nair

In Kerala, Navya Nair seems to be in the news now not for any good roles in Malayalam movies, but for her bathing scene in a Tamil movie. That apart she seems to be doing well in Tamil movies, doing some serious cinema. She made her debut in Prakash Raj’s Azhakiya Theeye which was followed by Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy, the remake of Srinivasan’s Chithavishtayaya Shyamala. Coming soon is Pasakilikal written by M. Karunanidhi, Aadum Koothu by T.V.Chandran and Amirtham by Kannan.

But in Malayalam most of the film makes are not casting her against young heroes like Dileep or Prithviraj. She tried her luck as Jayaram’s heroine in Sankar Dada, but it sank like Titanic. As we mentioned before, Kavya Madhavan is the only actress still remaining in Kerala and she seems to making the best of it by acting with Dileep in Lion and Prithviraj in Ananthabhadram.

Now Navya is starring two Malayalam movies, Saira by first time director Biju Kumar in which she plays a bold news correspondent and Kadalpole with Sunil as the hero. Navya seems to be staying away from popular cinema and trying her luck in offbeat Malayalam movies.
